He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Joyce Chavis; his children, Shelby Chavis, Wanda J. Chavis Lyons (Victor), Billy David Chavis Jr. (Deborah) and Jeffery Monroe Chavis; his siblings, Larry Chavis (Linda), Gerald Chavis (Judy) and Geraldine Hallman (Earl); his grandchildren, Michelle Givens Jefferies, Michael Ramey Givens (Emily Oeehslin), Shane Jacob Lyons (Rachel), Phillip David Thomas (Tammara), Jennifer Reed Chavis and Casey David Chavis; and his great grandchildren, Mackenzie Fawn Givens, Madison Elizabeth Givens and Sadie Jean Lyons. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
