He was predeceased by: his parents, James Welch and Ruth Welch; his former wife Janice Welch; and his brother David Welch. He is survived by: his wife Linda Maxwell Welch of Trenton; his daughter Terri Barton (Mike) of Gainesville, FL; his siblings, Ruth Anne Bennett (Ben) of Trenton and William "Bill" Welch of Perry, FL; and his grandson Michael Barton.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Ayers Rehabilitation Center or Haven Hospice of Chiefland.
