He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Jimmy" Welch and Ruth Welch; his brothers, David Welch and W. W. "Wimpy" Welch; his sisters-in-law, Vivian Welch and Janice Welch; and the mother of his child Pat Parker.
He is survived by: his sons, Chris Welch and Scott Welch (Dannielle) of Perry; and his sister Ruth Anne Bennett (Ben) of Trenton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
