He is survived by: his wife Melba Tugade Slagle; his stepson Timothy Tugade; his sons, Joseph Lenore Slagle and Jason Carl Slagle; his grandson Caleb A. Slagle of North Carolina; and his sisters, Carolyn Slagle Freeman, Linda Slagle Casey of South Carolina and Rebecca Slagle Sargeant of France. He is also survived by 6 nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
