He was predeceased by: his parents, Rannie Ross and Charles Ross; his former wife Lucille Cruz Ross; and his daughter Beth Ross Plemmons. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hepburn Ross (Penny Stonewall Ross); his children, Amy Burris (Mark), Christian Shane Ross (Hannah) and Aaron Ross (Kara); his grandchildren, Bethany Tice (Mark), Lauren Willett (Justin), Hannah Mae Moore (Chris), Stephen Plemmons (Tori), Aadriana Ross, Anabel Ross, Julian Ross, Gavin Ross, Silas Ross and Luke Ross; his great grandchildren, Elijah Tice, Maddox Willett, Reese Willett, Isaac Tice, Cutler Willett, Isla Kate Moore and Oliver Plemmons; his stepchildren, Kara and Kevin Thompson; his stepgrandchildren, Lindsey, Lauren and Leah; his brothers-in-law, Dennis Hepburn and James Hepburn; and also Patty Hepburn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
