Betty F (Creel) Loudermilk Obituary
Betty F. Loudermilk, 87, of Titusville, FL, passed away September 30, 2023, while recovering from a stroke previously suffered in November 2022.
Betty was born on April 21, 1936, in Hartshorne, OK. She grew up there, raised by her aunt and grandmother, and later attended high school there. After graduation, she married Bill Loudermilk in 1954 and raised three children.
Betty attended BCC locally and later started her working career with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. Afterward, she took a job as a "Kelley" girl, climbing her way up to Administrative Associate working for Rockwell/Rockadyne out at the Kennedy Space Center.
Betty was an outgoing and vibrant person, at once both witty and fun. She was also strong-willed and sometimes stubborn, but that was part of what endeared her to all she met. She was adventurous, independent, and passionate. A skilled pianist, Betty loved playing her baby grand piano at every opportunity she could find. She also loved to garden and paint, but mostly she loved traveling, cooking, and eating even more. She was very kind and inviting. It is said there were no strangers at Betty's table, as she frequently hosted impromptu gatherings and invited everyone. She was buoyed by her friends and grounded by her faith, which was strong, and we're certain she was joyously welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior when He called her home.
She is already greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 2004, followed by her youngest daughter Lori, in 2009. She leaves behind her eldest daughter, Diana, son Rodney, and son-in-law Thomas Baggit. As Betty was cremated, a Celebration of Life service will be held on October 26, 2023, at Indian River United Methodist Church, 1355 Cheney Hwy, in Titusville. Pastor Stewart Bodin will officiate.
