She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonor Montanez and Santiago Diaz; her husband Benito Aponte; her sister Alicia Diaz; her brother-in-law Gregorio Diaz; and her grandson Michael Cipriani.
She is survived by: her children, Benito Aponte, Sandra L Aponte, Ileana Piediscalzi and Brenda Aponte; her granddaughters, Joan Martinsen, Bianca Cipriani and Sandra N Aponte; and her niece Carmen Diaz Plaza. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
