He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Herring and Eunice Herring; his children, Kim Bias (Earl), Denise Herring, Bryan Herring, Lauri Foshee (Darryl) and Scott Whiddon (Sherry); and his grandchildren, Scott Garrison, Cheryl Lynn Talbott-Hall (Dave), Jeremy Talbott (Christine), Robert Bias, Justin Bias, Danielle Rosenfeld (Robert), Nathan Foshee (Casey), Ashley Morris and Lesley Whiddon. He was also cherished by 14 great grandchildren.
