He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles J. Schmidt and Crescentia Schmidt (Eholzer). He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Schmidt of The Villages, FL; and his children, Ronald Schmidt (Beverly) of Soldiers Grove, WI, Lorene Gonzalez (Fred) of Chicago, IL, Cynthia Bialik (Tim) of Chicago, IL, Jennifer Long of The Villages, FL and Mary Beth Berrafato of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family has requested donations be made to Vitas Hospice in Ron's loving memory.
