He was predeceased by: his parents, Ishmael Justice Powell (I. J.) and Daisy Williams Powell; and his niece Chanda Powell (Joseph Lopez). He is survived by: his siblings, James Thomas Powell (Tommy), Mary Kay Hatfield and Martha Ann Cecil (Cookie). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
