He was predeceased by: his parents, John Emery Howenstine and Mary Howenstine (Ickes); and his wife Catherine Loyal Howenstine. He is survived by: his children, John Howenstine (Amy) of Powell, Ohio and Katie Cich (Brian) of Jupiter, Florida; and his grandchildren, James, Charles, Evelyn Howenstine of Powell, Ohio, Lauren, Catherine and Emerson Cich of Jupiter, Florida..
