Melvin Slagter Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Slagter and Anna Lousma Slagter. He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his sibling Marion; his close friend Marion; his sons, Steven J. Slagter, Robert A. Slagter (Kim), Dennis E. Slagter (Jan) and Mark W. Slagter (Saundra); his brother Donald Slagter; and his sisters-in-law, JoAnn Slagter (Henry) and June Slagter (Marion). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event.
In lieu of flowers, gifts or donations, the family asks that you simply reflect on your fondest memory of Melvin and carry that with you.
