He is survived by: his children, Stephen Slate (Janice), Michael Slate (Jan), Peter Slate (Melissa), Cynthia Bidinotto-Slate (Robert), Candace Hardisky (Ray) and Shelley Harty (Steve). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
