He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Jane Johnson; his daughters, Karen Vesey and Anne Marie Rowe; his grandsons, Mark, David and Erik; and his siblings, Ellen, Nancy and Matthew. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“I know it’s been a few years, but I’m just now discovering the news of his passing. “Mr. Breede” (as we called him) was the best math teacher I ever had. It’s been 25 years since high school, and while I’ve long since forgotten most of it, I will never forget the only teacher that made math fun. I can still hear him up that chalkboard - “hail Caesar, hail yes.” Condolences to his family. He was a special man and truly made an impact in the lives of countless kids.”
