She was predeceased by: her parents, Edith Brown and George Patterson; her husband Clifford Pitts, Sr.; and her siblings, Ireta Thomas and Samuel Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Clifford Pitts, Jr. (Lolita), Frank Pitts, Paul Pitts (Glenda), Ervin Watts (Laverne), Irette Huggins, Anette Ross (Fred), Susan Pitts and Edith Pitts; and her close friend Barbara Ann Forbes. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild.
