She was predeceased by: her husband George Meehan. She is survived by: her son George III (Heather); her brother Dr. Ted Frantzis; and her nephew Tampa Bay. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces.

Fanitsa volunteered with numerous charitable organizations such as PARC, Queen of Hearts, American Cancer Society, Daughters of Penelope, and served as a Guardian Ad Litem for children in Pinellas County.
