Robert Thomas Williams Sr. Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Thomas Williams Sr (Tampa, Florida), born in Sarasota, Florida, who passed away on January 20, 2022, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends.
Robert is proceeded in death by his Mother- Mary Ordley; Father- Robert Williams, Sisters Mattie & Geraldine; Brothers- Sonny & Leroy; (2) nieces Yuwanda & Daysha; Nephew Deon. Robert was 9 years old when his mother passed away & his sister, Mattie took on the role of his mother and continued to raise him; they shared a special bond.
Robert leaves behind (2) children: son, Robert T. Jr & a daughter Kenya; wife- Geisha, (5) step children- Tjada, Marques, Lantie, Christopher, Jerome. 5 grandchildren: Tatiana, Robert III, Ryver, Toryi Ta’leah. 15 step- grandchildren. He had a host of nieces & nephews: Josie, Bobby, Pauline, Mary, Shun, Cassandra & Terra. Great nieces & nephews: Tia, Jamal, Jasmine, Dante, Brianna, Demari, Rickeria & Mitchell. He was lovingly known as “Uncle Main”.
Robert grew up in Perry, FL & graduated from Jerkins High School in 1972. He was a member of St. Peter's Primitive Baptist Church in Perry, FL & his sisters played the piano/sang in the choir. As a kid, he spent many summers in Perry & Ft. Lauderdale with his cousins: Van, Bobby, Wes, Liz & Deceased-Herbert, Sonny & Nita. After graduation, he was enlisted in the U.S. Marines @ the age of 17 years old; he fought in the Vietnam War & was stationed in Korea. He returned home due to sustaining a "gunshot wound to his knee"; for his brave service, he earned a Purple heart award. After returning home from the war, he moved around from Miami to New York & finally settled in Tampa, FL in 1994. He was a member of Northside Missionary Baptist Church. He worked several jobs but enjoyed working as a "Chef" @ numerous restaurants in the Tampa Bay area, he also worked as a Patient Care Tech @ Bay Pines VA hospital & Buckeye in Perry, FL.
Robert T loved his family & had a special bond with his children, Geisha & niece Pauline. He showed a little more love to his daughter Kenya because of her special needs. He was a wonderful father, brother, uncle, friend- if you needed him he would be there. We will miss him dearly & he will Forever be in our hearts. Rest Up Robert T
