He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Attilia Waibel; his children, William Waibel, Peter Waibel, Gregory Waibel, Jean Lewis Waibel and Heidi Sheltry; and his siblings, Gerhard Waibel and Monika Faltermayer. He was also cherished by 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
