He is survived by: his wife Laura Melvin of Tallahassee, FL; and his children, Walter Ballard, III (Britney) of Ft. Myers, FL, Christopher Ballard (Breanne) of Havana, FL and Jessica Chapman (Paul) of Tallahassee, FL. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
