He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter V. Schmalz and Genevieve Schmalz (Van Gompel); his wife Vickie L. Schmalz; and his mother-in-law Shirley Peterson. He is survived by: his siblings, Mona Dahlke (John) of Tallahassee, FL, Cindy Phillips (Barry) of Neenah, WI, Becky Fernandez (Dan) of Suffolk, VA and Steve Schmalz (Shery) of Menasha, WI; his father-in-law Russ Peterson of Darboy, WI; and his sisters-in-law, Lori Wolf (David) of Neenah, WI and Joni Young of Clintonville, WI. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his fur babies.
