He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Peavy and Clara Franklin Febo; and his siblings, Betty Jo DeBary, Doris Ruth Spears, Jack D. Peavy, J. E. Peavy, Tom Peavy, Otis Peavy, Elton Peavy and William Clayton Peavy.
He is survived by: his wife Geradine Fulghum Peavy; his children, Robert Ward Peavy (Henry Mattason), Margaret "Meg" Peavy, Victoria Elizabeth Reed and Charles O'Hair; his grandchildren, Christopher Reed and Heather Appleton; his great grandchildren, Logan Reed, Charlie Reed and Kyla Appleton; his sister Jeanette Peavy; his sister-in-law Myrtice Peavy; his nephew Harold Peavy; and his nieces, Nellie Ruth Tully, Marilyn Moore and Kim Peavy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either Big Bend Hospice or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
