He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence E. Sumner and Nell B. Ross. He is survived by: his wife Marian J. Sumner; his son Chris Sumner (Meghan) of Tallahassee; his grandchildren, Araela, Landon, Liv and Caleb; and his siblings, Kenneth Sumner (Cynthia), Patricia Whitfield (Steve), Bobby Ross (Penny), Randy Anderson (Nena), Tony Anderson (Vanita), Dorothy Gray (Laymon) and Adronna Kombrinck (Bruce). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the City Church (3215 Sessions Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32303).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Big Bend Hospice at 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
