He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hazel Hicks and Luther Hicks; his wife Patricia; his children, Donna Brown and Dan Hicks, Jr. (Susan); his stepson Tony Bennett; his grandchildren, David Brown, Sarah Brown, Diana Brown, Steven Hicks, Kaitlyn Hicks, Jared Bennett, Melissa Bennett and Ben Bennett; and his great grandchildren, Alex, Tyler and Wade.
His family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Big Bend Hospice House and ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee.
