With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Calvin Powell of Tallahassee, Florida, born in Defuniak Springs, Florida, who passed away on December 22, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cal Gene Powell and Eufaula Joyner Powell; his son Jeremy Fletcher; and his brothers, James Powell, Thomas Powell and Louis Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Bailey Powell; his children, Melanie Hill (Eric), Erin Powell and Matthew Powell; his daughter-in-law Pat Fletcher; his grandchildren, Jeremy Fletcher, Benjamin Fletcher, Jared Holcomb, Taylor Welsh (Bobby) and Gage Hill (Jada); his great grandchildren, Kinslee, Timberlynn and Everleigh; and his brother Gary Powell (Ginger). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sumatra Baptist Church (Building Fund) where David was baptized.
