He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Joe W. Adkins (Sun); his wife Joyce M. Adkins; his siblings, Jesse, William, Arnold, Paul, MaryAnn, Ova, India Belle, Marie, Bessie, Carrie Lee (Lillian Grace) and Roger Adkins; his nephews, David Adkins (Renee) and Kent (Susan); his daughter-in-law Dreama Adkins; his grandchildren, Nathan, Jason, Chase Adkins and Beth Myers; and his great grandchildren, Hunter, Tyler, Makayla, Abby, Aiden Scarlett and Brantley. He was also cherished by many loving nieces and nephews.
