She was predeceased by: her parents, Ellis Carter and Lolitta Lewis Carter; her daughter-in-law Patricia O'Steen; and her siblings, Denise Summerall, Wilma Sapp, Bertise Lee Carter, Wallace Carter and Ray Carter.

She is survived by: her husband Ronald O'Steen of Blackshear; her daughter Deidra; her son-in-law Steve Carter of Nashville, GA; her sons, Randy (Teresa "Bug" Herndon), Kelly (Amber Herndon), Wade O'Steen of Crawfordville, FL, Chris (Christina O'Steen) and Kevin (Alisa O'Steen); her brother Ronald Carter of Baxley; and her sister-in-law Linda Carter of Baxley. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
