He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Bernard Hicks, Sr. and Mary Jane Cox Hicks; his wife Lillian Hazel Sexton Hicks; and his brother Charles Randolph Hicks. He is survived by: his children, Robert Darrell (Julie) of Columbia, SC, Sharon Elaine of Newberry and David Christopher (Amanda) of Jacksonville; and his grandchildren, Andrew Blake Misura, Janie Simmons Hicks, Jessie Adrianna Edwards-Hicks, Casey Houston Edwards-Hicks and Travis Xavier Hicks. He is also survived by seven step-children.
Due to covid-19 restrictions a graveside service for family will take place Sunday May 10, 2020 at Santa Fe Cemetery in Hampton FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mary's House 3502 SW 75th St, Gainesville, FL 32608 or the Santa Fe Cemetery to maintain and preserve the sanctity and history of this beautiful site in North Central Florida, Santa Fe Cemetery, PO BOX 140, Hampton, FL 32044.
