He was predeceased by: his parents, Thornton Johns and Oweida Lucille Johns (Hall); his daughter Oweida Johns; his brother Walter "Nub" Johns; and his grandchildren, Brandon Griffis and Lisa Fulgham.
He is survived by: his wife Carroll "Johnnie" Johns (Forsyth) of Starke; his children, Kevin Johns, Diana Knotts (Eric), Richard Smith and Louette Smith-Hylton (Butch); his sisters, Gladys Bundy Thomas McRae (Arley) and Emily Johns McDonald (Rod); his grandchildren, Daniel Griffis, Gerad Griffis, Shauna Hylton, Jodie Smith, Chipper Smith, Garfield Johns and Grady Johns; and his great grandchildren, Kaylin Griffis, Josh Crane and Dalon Blankenship.
