He was predeceased by: his father Pedro Duarte. He is survived by: his wife Miryam; his children, Nestor (Michelle), Leonardo (Saralyn) and Nancy Matherson; his siblings, Rosa Niño, Israel Velandia (Beatriz) and Clara Duarte; and his grandchildren, Mireya (Seth), Ariana (Jon), Alicia (Shane), Jordan, Trevor (Heidi), Gabriel, Lola and Isabella. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
