He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Carroll Gambrell Sr. and Linda Smith Gambrell. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Gambrell; his children, Joseph Carroll Gambrell III and Melinda Pennell (Robert); and his siblings, Tony Gambrell (Angie), Carolyn Jernigan (Ted), Brenda Wise (Chuck) and Lisa Jolliff (Shane). He is also survived by six grandchildren.
