He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mullen and Agnes Mullen. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Mullen; his daughters, Stephanie Phillips (Gray) and Kristin Tyson (Doug); his sister Larraine MacLean (Ron); and his grandchildren, Eleanor, Adelyn, Beatrice, Zachary Phillips, Avet and Elias Tyson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.
