He was predeceased by: his parents, Winifred Whelan and Edward Whelan. He is survived by: his wife Susanne. He is also survived by 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

“I did not personally know Ed Whelan but his wife, Susanne, is well acquainted with my wife and myself. She spoke volumes of him, leading him for his selfless service through life. He serviced in the military, then retired as a policement and finally retired from his nursing career. by Susanne's account he was a wonderful man and will be missed.”
