He was predeceased by: his sisters, Elizabeth M. Snyder and Ethyl Muck. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Kenneth B. Pfeil, Deborah L. Kny and Jeffrey L. Pheil; his grandchildren, Monica A. Pheil, Matthew R. Pfeil, John Jeffrey Kny, Arielle A. Pfeil, Sara O. Pheil and Andrew A. Pheil; and his great grandchild Skyler Pheil.
