He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl M. Steffen and Ann Steffen (Heyen); and his grandson Marc David Dawson. He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Erich Steffen, Gretchen Dawson (David) and Kirsten Piper (Clark); his grandchildren, Luke, Kayla Dawson, Clark David and Kelsea Piper; and his sisters-in-law, Janice Stallings and Pamela Wieser. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
