He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Strickland and Eloise Kemp Strickland; his siblings, JoAnn Edwards Catoe and Daniel L. Strickland; and his granddaughter Jordan Strickland.
He is survived by: his wife Leona Strickland; his children, George Scott Strickland (Lisa), Tannye Owens Rogers (Monroe), Stacey Strickland Visceglie (John), Beth Brown (Wade) and Daniel Nicholson Strickland (Emily); his siblings, Sarah Strickland, Nena Anderson (Randy), Malcom Strickland (Rita) and Robert Strickland (Regina); his siblings-in-law, Sandra Strickland and Marshall Catoe; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Samantha, Aaron, Grant, Benjamin, Taylor, Emily, Caleb, Haley and Anna. He is also survived by ten Great Grandchildren.
