He was predeceased by: his parents, Gene R. Poythress, Sr. and Elizabeth Revells Poythress; and his sisters, Bobbie Jean Poythress Locke and Carol Poythress Meadows. He is survived by: his son Kyle Poythress (Marissa); his girlfriend Susan Smith; his grandchildren, Lane, Mason and Cohen; his nieces and nephews, Chad Locke, Brad Meadows, Staci Locke Arnold and April Ambercrombie; and his brother Hugh Rowan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the McAlpin Funeral Home (8261 US-90, Sneads, FL 32460). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
