Comer Tindol Obituary
Comer Tindol of Shalimar, Florida passed away April 27, 2018. He was born October 17, 1924 in New Brockton, AL. Preceded in death by parents Elizabeth Boutwell Tindol and Jessie Tindol.
Comer served in the United States Army and was stationed in Okinawa and Tokyo Japan during World War II. After completing his tour in Japan, he returned to the states to marry his lifelong sweetheart. He attended Troy University business school and worked in automobile sales for 32 years.
Comer was a member of the American Legion Post 235, a life member of the Moose Lodge post 2193 and a life member of the V. F. W. Post 7674. He held several positions including Commander during his time with the V. F. W. He had a passion for supporting disabled veterans and the Veteran's Hospital. He also contributed his time to working on community services.
He was a true believer of Christ and attended the Calvary Baptist Church of Ft. Walton Bch. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years Beatrice Martin Tindol. Daughters Renee Parker (Bob), Pensacola, FL. Tanya Anastasia (Mike), Hoover, AL.
Amy Dallas (who was like a daughter) Crestview, FL. Grandchildren Michael Craig, Casey Craig, MSgt Thomas Gooch (Michele), Kendra Atkins (Chris), Kalin Anastasia (Keith), Jaimie Pack (Matt). Great grandchildren Annabelle, Kailey, Lily, Arabella, Caiden, Kaleigh, Rowan, Ares, Athena, Allie, Evan, Samantha, and Joseph.
Services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 529 Clifford Street, Fort Walton Bch., FL Tuesday May 1. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 with the service immediately following. Assistant pastor John Policastro and Reverend Buddy Hood will be officiating.
Military graveside service will be held at the Old Tabernacle Cemetery, 11596 Highway 51, New Brockton, AL on May 2 at 2:00. Friends and relatives are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old Tabernacle Cemetery fund, 11596 Highway 51, New Brockton, AL.
