He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Gerlt and Arlene Gerlt; his children, Raymond Smith and Linda Estroff; his siblings, Margaret Ann Friedly, Dorothy Arlene Milligan and Robert Gerlt; and his grandchildren, Brittany Smith and Gage Rogerson.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Gerlt; his children, Carol Starowicz (Joe) of Fort Myers and Bruce Smith (Vicki) of Seffner; and his daughter-in-law Pokey of Lakeland. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home (454 Buck Moore Rd, Lake Wales, FL 33853). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
