He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Johnson and Annie Johnson; his wife Estella B. Johnson; his sons, Luther Leroy Johnson and Theodore Walter Johnson; his siblings, Myrtle Reed, Beatrice I. Tucker and Otis L. Johnson; his aunts and uncles, Evelyna Johnson, Pauline Banks, Tommy Collier, Paul Collier and Lavander Collier; his nieces and nephews, Fanning Loretta Crawford, Juanita Johnson and Clayton Everett; and his son-in-law Elbert Newton Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Linda Newton, Bertha Wynn (Marquis), Francine Lavern Scott (Arthur) and Luther "LuLu" Johnson; his grandchildren, Vanessa Spurlock (Twon), Donald "Red" Dowridge, LaKeisha "Gal" Newton, Queneil Johnson, Krystal Newton, Elbert Newton III, Datntae Johnson, Marquisha "Pooh" Wynn (Robert), Destiny Scott and Arthur Scott II; his great grandchildren, Bria Moore (Randen), Jayden Johnson, Ze'on, Ze'Kori, Ze'quoya Newton, Ejayvius, Enesia Newton, Donjanay Dowridge, Rokealen and Le'aira Bradley; his great great grandchild Ria Moore; his sister Annie Eliza Johnson; and his close friends, Edna Mae Johnson and L. W. Stillings. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
