He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard C. Bugbee Sr. and Mary Bibby; his wife Dorothy (Dottie); his brother Richard C. Bugbee Jr.; and his sons, Robert P. Bugbee Jr. and Michael Bugbee.
He is survived by: his children, Valerie Booth (Tim) of Minnesota and Tom Bugbee (Tami) of Kentucky. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
