He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Vaughn Wilkes and Violet Mae Holder (Wilkes); and his brothers, Jimmy Franklin, Ray Vaughn Wilkes Jr. and Johnny Wilkes.
He is survived by: his children, James Wilkes, Jonathan Wilkes, Anna Kephart and Dawn Huang; his grandson Sky Bolt Kephart; and his siblings, Marvin Wilkes, Cassanova Wilkes and Barbara Valle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
