He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Austin and Helen Austin; and his brother Dennis Austin. He is survived by: his wife Bette; his daughters, Bonnie Deconcini (Joe) of Minnesota and Jennifer Austin of Germany; his stepdaughter Dyani Berman of Michigan; and his granddaughter Ruby Deconcini of Minnesota.
