With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George D. Thompson of Sebring, Florida, born in Columbus, Ohio, who passed away on October 23, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, George is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that George's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter H. Thompson and Agnes Lucille Thompson (Wine); his wife Kathryn R. Thompson (Taylor); and his brother Charles Thompson. He is survived by: his children, Sharon K. Sharp (Dale), Douglas G. Thompson (Karen) and Dennis W. Thompson (Mindy); and his siblings, Lloyd Thompson, Marvin Thompson, Ray Thompson (Karen), Glenn Thompson (Sharon) and Mary Virgin. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens (854 S Memorial Dr, Avon Park, FL 33825).
