He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Glenn and Justine Julia Wiseman (Simmons); his wife Vera; and his sisters, Brenda Scott and Sandra Crowcroft.
He is survived by: his sisters, Dreama Mosher (Tom) of Sebring, Florida, Elizabeth Simon of Cambridge, Ohio and Linda Janes of Mattoon, Illinois; and his close friend Sandi Rohrbough. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Donations in honor of Gary can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
