He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford L. Smart and Margaret E. Smart; his former wife Mary Lou Wolf; his daughter Barbara Altimus; his siblings, Rosalie Wilson, Judy Russell and Kenny Smart; and his grandchild Kim Beechy Huff.
He is survived by: his wife Roberta Rosebrock Stroh Smart; his daughters, Vicki McNamara of Auburn, IN and Donna McCoy (John) of Albion, IN; his son-in-law Bill Altimus; his stepson Ross Stroh of St. Louis; his daughter Debra Wiley (Scott) of Corunna, IN; his grandchildren, Baylee of Corunna, Vince Coleman of Ashley, IN, Sarah Earnest (Shannon) of Ashley, IN, Dawn Stewart (Greg) of Wawaka, IN and Brandy Howard of Wawaka, IN; and his brother Jerry Smart (Sue) of Wolcottville, IN. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Whispering Pines Baptist Church, Sebring, FL or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
