He was predeceased by: his parents, David J Ratzlaff and Edrie Olive Ratzlaff (Golberg); and his sisters, Donna Haggart and Dorene McNulty. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Jean Shaver; his daughters, Lindsay (Terry), Wessling (MN) and Dawn (David); his brother Donald Ratzlaff; and his grandchildren, Hill (Jason), Terry Wessling II, Heather Lindsay (Wessling), Zachary Thistle (Allison) and Jacob Thistle (Laura).
