He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Mele and Kathleen Van Mele; his wife Debby; his children, Scott Van Mele of Portland, Oregon, Mary Gallegos and Michelle Van Mele of Barefoot Bay, Florida; his stepson Christopher Meyer of Sebastian, Florida; his grandchildren, Justin Van Mele, Anthony Gallegos and Michelle Gallegos; and his brother John Van Mele.
