He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Russell and Virginia Johnson Russell; his former wife Jane E. McAvoy; his wife Margaret Francis Seifert; his stepmother Rhoda Waters Russell; and his stepsister Janet W. Dixon.
He is survived by: his stepsisters, Kristine Braun (David) of Sarasota, Dixie Barker of Cincinnati and Dayna Wade of Alexandria; and his cousin Larry Anderson of Virginia.
