He was predeceased by: his parents, John New and Lillian "Angel" New (Herrmann); and his brother John Ronald New. He is survived by: his siblings, Denise Hagan (Frank) of Collingswood, NJ, Dennis New (Deb) of Horsham, PA, Darren New of Bristol, PA and Lora Clay of Wilder, VT.; his caregivers, Pat and Joe Evans of Bradenton, FL; and his nieces and nephews, Andrea New, Grace MacLean (Shawn), Lisa Barikian (Mike), John New, Jeremy Hagan, Sean New (Katy), Ryan New (Sara), Nicholas Clay and Nathan Clay. He is also survived by 11 great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 5th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sarasota National Cemetery (9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dan's name to the Travis Manion Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project—causes he supported with all his heart.
