He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederic Russell and Eleanor Russell; and his brothers, Rick, Bob, Jeff and Mark.

He is survived by: his wife Charlene Russell (Putrino); his children, Justin (Elisa), Brittany Russell and Jared Russell; his grandson Harrison; and his siblings, Mary Russell Eraca, Nancy Roys (John), Patty Kulesza (Joe), Chris, Steve (Leslie), Matt (Jane) and Peter Russell (Theresa). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
